Website widget 101

If you're looking for the easiest way to keep your tour dates up-to-date on your artist website, hot damn, you've come to the right place. With our artist platform Tourbox, not only can you manage all of your dates on Songkick, but you can grab the code for our website widget to automatically publish your upcoming events to your own site.

So, provided you're all set up managing your artist on Tourbox already, let's begin!

1) To build and grab the code for your website widget, simply head to the 'Publishing Tools' tab on Tourbox:

2) From here, you can follow the simple instructions to design your widget for your website. Take note of a few pro-tips:

> Right now, it's only possible to display one artist's upcoming events in a website plugin.

> The option to 'show other artists' allows you to display the other artists on the lineup for each event.

> The option to 'show subscribe button' will allow your fans to track you on Songkick directly from your website, so they'll receive a notification whenever you announce future shows in their town.

Once you're finished designing your widget, hit the 'Grab the code' button to generate the html, which you can then paste into your website however you see fit!

> If you make any updates to the widget design, you'll have to hit 'Grab the code' again for the html to update accordingly. Equally, you'll then have to paste the fresh html into your site.

Just like this:

3) Here are some frequently asked widget questions, just in case:
I've embedded the html, but all I see is a 'Tour Dates' link on my website. What gives?

It sounds like you're missing the actual script to run the widget. Make sure you have the following pasted somewhere on your page:

Can I specify the number of shows displayed in the widget?

Right now, unfortunately not - but we're keeping in mind ways to make the widget more flexible and customisable to meet artist needs!

Can I determine exactly where the 'Find tickets' button links to for each upcoming event?

Absolutely! We've added 'direct ticket links' as an option for website widget users. All the info can be found here
